CHEC recently recognized for safety acheivements

CHEC was recently recognized by the NC Department of Labor for achieving ten consecutive years of participation in the Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP). With less than 200 participants, SHARP is one of the most prestigious safety and health recognition programs in North Carolina. Reaching a full decade of continuous recognition is a remarkable accomplishment that only a few dozen employers statewide have achieved.

The cooperative also received an award for the successful completion of the 2025 Rural Electric Safety Achievement Program (RESAP) assessment and celebrated 30 years of participation in the program. RESAP is a service of National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) and strives to promote the highest standards of safety among electric cooperatives. Every three years the cooperative's safety standards and activities are evaluated and must meet rigorous requirements to achieve this award.

The safety of employees, members and visitors is always a top priority at CHEC. We are proud to receive these accolades will continue our work to strengthen our culture of safety.
