Three CHEC directors recently earned professional development credentials through the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA).
Angela Conner Tawes, Director at Large, has earned her Board Leadership Certificate (BLC) from NRECA. The BLC recognizes individuals who continue their professional development after becoming a Credentialed Cooperative Director (CCD) and have completed 10 credits in advance, issues-oriented courses.
Briggs McEwan, District 5 – Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo, and Bryan Mattingly, District 4 – Avon, have earned the elite Director Gold credential from NRECA. To earn Director Gold, directors must first earn their CCD and BLC certificates, followed by additional courses on topics ranging from governance and finance to technology and power supply. Director Gold is the highest credential an electric cooperative board member can receive.
As the electric industry continues to evolve, CHEC directors are committed to ongoing education and training to keep pace with industry changes and stay informed about issues that can impact or benefit our members.
